ShareX on Windows

Screenshots, screen recordings, text and files from ShareX to your server, plus its link shortener.

Use a current ShareX (version 17 or newer). It reads custom uploader files (.sxcu) with a double click.

1. Make an uploader on your server

1. Sign in to your server and open Settings > Uploaders, then Add uploader.
2. Pick ShareX, give it a name you'll recognize, and check the folder, visibility and link style. The defaults are fine.
3. The next page has these same steps with your server and token already filled in. The token is shown once, so copy it or download the files now.

The snippets below use https://drive.example.com and stu_YOUR_UPLOADER_TOKEN. Swap in your own if you set things up by hand.

Leave Also shorten links on if you want ShareX's URL shortener to make short links on your server. You get a second file for that.

2. Add it to ShareX

1. Download the uploader file and double click it. ShareX asks whether to make it your default image, text and file uploader: say Yes.
2. If you turned on short links, download the link shortener file and double click it too.
3. Take a screenshot (Ctrl+Print Screen selects an area by default). When the upload is done, the link is on your clipboard.
4. To check or change it later: Destinations > Custom uploader settings.

The files, by hand

Save this as drive.example.com.sxcu and double click it. Text you upload lands as a .txt file (Markdown stays .md) and opens with highlighting.

The link shortener is a separate file. ShareX puts the long link in {input}:

Overrides

The uploader's settings on your server apply to everything ShareX sends. To change them for one config, add Arguments in Custom uploader settings:

• visibility: public, unlisted or private
• link: page or direct
• folder: a path in My Drive, like Screenshots/Games (made if missing)
