Uploaders

iPhone and iPad Shortcuts

A Shortcut that uploads from the Share Sheet (Photos, Files, Safari) and copies the link.

You build it once in the Shortcuts app. It takes a couple of minutes, and the token stays on your device. (Shortcut files have to be signed to be shared, so there's no file to download.)

1. Make an uploader on your server

  1. Sign in to your server and open Settings > Uploaders, then Add uploader.
  2. Pick iPhone and iPad Shortcuts, give it a name you'll recognize, and check the folder, visibility and link style. The defaults are fine.
  3. The next page has these same steps with your server and token already filled in. The token is shown once, so copy it or download the files now.

The snippets below use https://drive.example.com and stu_YOUR_UPLOADER_TOKEN. Swap in your own if you set things up by hand.

2. Build the shortcut

  1. Open Shortcuts, tap + and name the shortcut after your server.
  2. Tap the info button, turn on Show in Share Sheet and set the input to Images and Files.
  3. Add Get Contents of URL and set the URL:
    text
    https://drive.example.com/api/v1/upload
  4. Tap Show More. Method: POST. Under Headers add Authorization with the value:
    text
    Bearer stu_YOUR_UPLOADER_TOKEN
  5. Request Body: Form. Add a field, choose File, name it file, and set its value to Shortcut Input.
  6. Add Get Dictionary Value: get the value for key url in Contents of URL.
  7. Add Copy to Clipboard. Optionally add Show Notification with the Dictionary Value.
  8. Share a screenshot or a file and pick the shortcut. The link is on your clipboard.

Want direct links from this phone only? Add a second Form field, Text, named link with the value direct.
