Uploaders

Android with HTTP Shortcuts

The free HTTP Shortcuts app puts your server in Android's share menu.

1. Make an uploader on your server

  1. Sign in to your server and open Settings > Uploaders, then Add uploader.
  2. Pick HTTP Shortcuts, give it a name you'll recognize, and check the folder, visibility and link style. The defaults are fine.
  3. The next page has these same steps with your server and token already filled in. The token is shown once, so copy it or download the files now.

The snippets below use https://drive.example.com and stu_YOUR_UPLOADER_TOKEN. Swap in your own if you set things up by hand.

2. Make the shortcut

  1. Install HTTP Shortcuts (by Roland Meyer) from Google Play or F-Droid and make a new Regular Shortcut.
  2. Basic Request Settings: method POST, URL:
    text
    https://drive.example.com/api/v1/upload
  3. Request Headers: add Authorization with the value:
    text
    Bearer stu_YOUR_UPLOADER_TOKEN
  4. Request Body / Parameters: set Request Body Type to Parameters (form-data), add a parameter of type File named file, and let it take files shared with the shortcut.
  5. Scripting > Run on Success:
    js
    copyToClipboard(JSON.parse(response.body).url);
  6. Response Handling: Toast Popup, or Show nothing if you'd rather not see it. Save.
  7. Share a screenshot from any app, pick HTTP Shortcuts and then this shortcut. The link is on your clipboard.
