iPhone and iPad
The Stavo app backs up your photo library to your server and gives you your whole Drive on the go. Connect to your server; the apps follow your server's license.
Connect
- Install Stavo from the App Store (coming soon) and type your server address, like
https://drive.example.com. - Approve the connection in the browser that pops up. Same handshake as the Mac app, no tokens to copy.
- Pick (or create) the Drive folder your photos go into, for example
Photos/iPhone.
Backup
Originals only. HEIC, ProRAW, Live Photos (the still and the video stay paired) and video upload untouched, in the background, and resume where they left off. Files your server already has are skipped by checksum, even if they came from another device.
Free up space
The app asks your server which items it has, checked against a checksum the phone computed itself. Only those get offered for deletion. Anything not verified stays on your phone.
Duplicates
Finds exact copies and near duplicates (bursts, re-saves, slightly cropped versions). It works on the phone's own library and across everything on your server. Stavo picks the best copy to keep, highest resolution first, and moves the rest to the trash.
Smart search
Search for "beach", "dog" or a person's name. If your server runs the optional ML container, it indexes everything. If it doesn't, your iPhone indexes photos on device as it backs them up and sends the results to your server.
